Worker in critical condition after truck falls on him

Many Ohioans unknowingly work in jobs that pose risks of injury. Sometimes the danger is hidden and other times it is masked by safety procedures put in place by employers. Though employers have a duty to protect their employees from harm, sometimes unsafe working conditions or workplace accidents lead to injuries. One such accident occurred recently and left one worker injured.

Workers' compensation claim tied to Fire Chief's death appealed

Firefighters and police officers serve to protect our communities. Every day these individuals put their lives on the line to make us safe. When these courageous men and women are injured or killed on the job, their employers should take care of them and their families. While many workers' compensation claims are accepted and paid out, others are denied. A recent workers' compensation claim denial helps illustrate how these claims work and issues that may come up when one is filed.

Impaired driver hits, seriously injures OH construction worker

The law regulates speed limits in construction zones and posted signs make motorists aware of oncoming risks, both for their own and construction workers' safety. Unfortunately, drivers often ignore the laws and these signs, thus putting construction workers at serious risk of harm. These workers, who put their lives in danger every day, can suffer serious physical impairment, permanent disability, or death when struck by a car.

Accident at gas pipeline construction site kills worker

To protect workers, employers must implement safety regulations and properly monitor work on an ongoing process. A failure to do any of these may result in serious workplace accidents that cause severe, debilitating injuries or death. Sadly, one of these instances occurred recently in Ohio.
